Why Lunchbox Leadership Started
Lunchbox Leadership didn’t begin as a brand or a content plan.
It started as simple notes tucked into my kids’ lunch boxes—short reminders of truth, courage, and perspective to carry with them into their day.
Those notes slowly turned into the posts I’ve been sharing with you this school year.
Each one has been my way of saying, “You’re not alone in this. Keep going. God is at work right where you are.”
Closing One Chapter, Turning the Page
With this school year now wrapped up, it feels like the right time to take a small step back from the normal rhythm of Lunchbox Leadership posts.
Not because the work is less important, but because I want to honor the season we’re in as a family.
Over the next stretch, I plan to:
- Spend more time with my wife and kids, making new memories together—around the table, on the road, and in the everyday moments that don’t always make it into a post.
- Give myself space to pray, listen, and thoughtfully consider what Lunchbox Leadership should look like in this next season.
- Rethink the Lunchbox Leadership strategy for the summer and for next year—what to keep, what to adjust, and how to serve both my kids and this community even better as we move into “year 2” of this journey.
This isn’t an ending; it’s a pause to breathe, listen, and prepare for what’s next.
What Our Family Has Been Learning in This Season
Since arriving in Kansas, a lot has changed: new jobs, a new home, a new state, a new school district, and new relationships.
On paper, that’s a list of transitions. In reality, it’s been a year of stretching, trusting, and growing.
Here are a few things this season has been teaching me:
- Faithfulness matters more than polish.
The most meaningful posts—and the most meaningful days—haven’t been the slickest ones. They’ve been the honest ones, where we showed up even when we were tired. - Small seeds add up.
One note in a lunch box doesn’t change a life, but a steady stream of truth and encouragement over time starts to shape hearts and habits. - Community is a gift.
Every comment, message, and quiet “I needed this today” has reminded me that God can work through ordinary words and everyday moments to bring hope and encouragement.
We are not the same family that arrived here.
We’re stronger, not because we got everything right, but because God has been faithful in every step.

What’s Next For Lunchbox Leadership
Lunchbox Leadership isn’t going away; it’s just catching its breath.
In this next season, you might see:
- Fewer “structured” posts and more real‑life snapshots from family and everyday leadership
- More time to take it all in and be thankful for all that God has done and provided along the way
- A heart that is still very much committed to helping build hearts, homes, and leaders right where you are
My prayer is to step into this next chapter with fresh, intentional content that serves both my kids and this community even better.
